   Guided morning at the Grand Palace, Wat Pho's reclining Buddha, then a longtail through the Thonburi canals to Wat Arun for sunset.

   Floating market by paddle boat, the train running through Maeklong market, and an afternoon at Ayutthaya's UNESCO ruins (optional).

   Fly to Chiang Mai

   Afternoon temple loop — Wat Phra Singh, Wat Chedi Luang — and a Sunday Walking Street dinner crawl.

   Doi Suthep & ethical elephants

   Sunrise at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, then a half day at an ethical elephant sanctuary in the Mae Wang valley.
