Why visit Phuket

Phuket is Thailand's largest island and the gateway to the Andaman Sea. Powder-white beaches, limestone karsts, world-class diving, and a food scene that runs from beachside somtam carts to Michelin-recognised restaurants — it packs an entire holiday into one island.

Best time to visit

The dry season runs November to April, with the calmest seas and clearest skies from December to March. May–October brings the southwest monsoon: cheaper, greener, quieter, but with rougher seas on the west coast.

Grab and local taxis dominate; scooters are cheap but only recommended for confident riders. Private transfers are worth it between beaches and for day trips.
