Why Krabi

Krabi delivers dramatic limestone cliffs, some of Thailand's prettiest beaches, and a more relaxed vibe than Phuket. It's the launchpad for Railay, the Four Islands, and Hong Islands — plus rock climbing, kayaking, and jungle hot springs.

Ao Nang vs Railay

  • Ao Nang — accessible by road, wider hotel choice, easy day trips.
  • Railay — accessible only by longtail boat; car-free, dramatic, iconic. Best for climbers and honeymooners.

Must-do experiences

  1. Four Islands Tour — Chicken, Poda, Tup and Phra Nang Cave beach.
  2. Hong Islands — turquoise inner lagoons perfect for kayaking.
  3. Phi Phi day trip — Maya Bay and Bamboo.
  4. Emerald Pool & Hot Springs — jungle escape in Khlong Thom.
  5. Tiger Cave Temple — 1,260 steps for a huge Andaman view.

Best time to visit

Same Andaman pattern as Phuket: November–April is ideal. Seas are calmest December–March.

Combining Krabi with Phuket

Ferry Phuket ↔ Krabi is 2–2.5 hours and runs year-round. A common route is Phuket 3–4 nights, then Krabi 3–4 nights. Ask us to build a tailored itinerary.

Practical tips

  • Book Railay accommodation early — inventory is small.
  • Longtail transfers to Railay stop at sunset — plan return timing.
  • Cash is king at Railay — the ATM situation is limited.
